Thank You to the 70 Participants of the Webinar on Pre-Mediation and International Family Mediation
On Wednesday, 15 October 2025, nearly 70 participants attended the SSI France webinar dedicated to pre-mediation and international family mediation within the framework of the iCare2 Project – two essential mechanisms for preventing and supporting situations involving international parental child abduction.
Led by Sandrine Pepit, Director of SSI France, and Ludivine Makanda, Family Mediator and Project Officer, the session combined presentations, quizzes, and interactive exchanges. The discussion was enriched by contributions from:
- Amélie Demange, Magistrate at DEDIPE – Ministry of Justice, who presented the general framework and the challenges arising from family separation and the coexistence of multiple legal systems.
- Emile Ajavon, Accredited International Family Mediator, who shared practical insights and resources on good practices in international family mediation.
Participants raised numerous questions, demonstrating how mediation can sometimes provide a child-centred solution that preserves the parent-child relationship and avoids additional ruptures.
