Objective:
Conduct an in-depth analysis and research on the impact of Regulation (EU) 2019/1111, focusing on its implementation and effectiveness in four of the partner countries (Bulgaria, France, Italy, and Poland). This will involve evaluating how the regulation has been applied in these countries, identifying challenges in its enforcement, and assessing its success in improving judicial cooperation, resolving international child abduction cases, and promoting family mediation. The research will also explore the extent to which the regulation is protecting children’s rights, particularly with respect to its child- and gender-sensitive provisions and offer recommendations for improving its implementation and application across EU Member States.

Strengthen the capacity of judicial actors, family mediators, lawyers, and other professionals to implement Regulation (EU) 2019/1111 in a child- and gender-sensitive manner. This will involve tailored training to enhance understanding of the regulation’s provisions, with a focus on the best interests of the child, the child’s right to be heard, and gender considerations in family disputes.
